From a really interesting vintage for Pinot Noir, the grapes were carefully selected hand-harvested fruit, picked much later than usual into the year. After a cooler August and early September, there was something of an Indian summer thus we picked and whole-bunch pressed some wonderful late-ripened pinot.
A pale salmon colour with a fine mousse, this is a off-dry wine. The sweetness is so subtle, carried by bags of red fruit, cranberries, rhubarb and strawberries on the front palate, and pronounced Pinot Noir character on the finish.
The profile is a natural partner for desserts and particularly suited to wedding cake toasts; however the wine’s complexity provides a wonderful counter to rich salty foods, cheeses and even spice.
This is an extremely limited production of less than 1100 bottles, disgorged in two tranches. Our first run sold out in under 3 weeks following a silver medal at The Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships 2020! We are very proud to get that level of recognition.
“The curvaceous texture is what impressed me – positively plump, Rubenesque even. Can’t be compared to other English cuvées.” @DOUGLASBLYDE
